Kay Lynne Sattler
 Maui
artist Kay Lynne Sattler was born and raised in the foothills
of Colorado before the Hawaiian Islands became her home. Her signature
works are a sophisticated balance of hand coiled clay, juxtaposed
with the controlled use of precious metals. The rich, pit fired
clay forms are but a canvas upon which she applies the ethereal
shimmer of her chosen metals. Through meticulous gilding techniques,
she coaxes light to live in a serene sanctuary within the body
of the clay. The collaboration is highly contemporary, yet primitive;
exuding a sensuous and subtle elegance. One is drawn into the
primal, pure and precise way in which Kay Lynne Sattler’s artistry
evokes the elemental essence of creation. |
